The 2021 UEFA European Football Championship
The 2021 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2021, is scheduled to take place from 11 June to 11 July 2021 in 12 cities across Europe. The tournament will be the first UEFA Euro to be held in multiple countries, with the host nations being Azerbaijan, Denmark, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Spain and Turkey.
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan, a country located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, will be hosting three group stage matches and one quarter-final match. The matches will be played in the 68,700-capacity Olympic Stadium in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. This will be the first time the country will be hosting a major international football tournament.
Denmark
Denmark, a small kingdom in Scandinavia, will be hosting three group stage matches and one round of 16 match. The matches will be played at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The Parken Stadium, which has a capacity of 38,065, has hosted a number of major European and international football matches, including the 1993 UEFA Champions League Final.
England
England, the birthplace of modern football, will be hosting three group stage matches and one round of 16 match. The matches will be played at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London. The 90,000-capacity stadium is the largest in the United Kingdom and is one of the most famous stadiums in the world. It has hosted a number of major European and international football matches, including the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final.
Germany
Germany, one of the most successful countries in the world of football, will be hosting three group stage matches and one quarter-final match. The matches will be played in the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The 74,475-capacity stadium is one of the most iconic stadiums in the world and has hosted a number of major international football matches, including the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final.
Hungary
Hungary, a small landlocked country in Central Europe, will be hosting three group stage matches and one round of 16 match. The matches will be played at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The 67,215-capacity stadium is one of the most iconic stadiums in the world and has hosted a number of major international football matches, including the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final.
Italy
Italy, the home of some of the world’s most iconic football clubs, will be hosting three group stage matches and one quarter-final match. The matches will be played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The 72,698-capacity stadium is one of the most iconic stadiums in the world and has hosted a number of major international football matches, including the 1960 UEFA European Football Championship Final.
