Hosting a Zoom Meeting
Get Ready to Host
With the pandemic still ongoing, video conferencing and virtual meetings have become the new norm. Zoom is one of the most popular video conferencing applications out there, and it is easy to use with just a few simple steps. To host a successful Zoom meeting, you will need to make sure you are prepared.
Schedule Your Meeting
The first step in hosting a Zoom meeting is to schedule it. You’ll need to log into your Zoom account and enter the date, time, and length of the meeting. You’ll also be able to enter the meeting topic and any necessary information about the meeting. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to send out the meeting invitation to all the participants.
Invite Your Participants
Once you’ve scheduled the meeting, it’s time to invite your participants. You can either do this manually by entering each person’s email address or you can use the Zoom application to send out a meeting invitation link. This link can be shared with your participants, who can then easily join the meeting.
Test Your Audio and Video
Before the meeting starts, it’s important to make sure that your audio and video are working properly. You can do this by clicking the “Test Computer Audio” button in the Zoom application. This will allow you to hear a test sound and make sure your microphone is working. You can also check the video by looking at the video preview window and making sure that your camera is working properly.
Prepare Your Presentation
If you’re hosting a meeting where you’ll be presenting, it’s important to make sure you’re prepared. Make sure you have all the necessary materials, like slides and visuals, ready to go before the meeting starts. You’ll also want to make sure you have a plan for the meeting, so that everyone knows what to expect.
Start the Meeting
When it’s time to start the meeting, you’ll need to make sure that everyone is present. You can do this by clicking the “Start Meeting” button in the Zoom application. This will start the meeting and allow all participants to join. Make sure to welcome everyone and introduce yourself before beginning the meeting.
